Remove MySQL completely from Linux Ubuntu

Open your Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T):
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get purge mysql-server mysql-client mysql-common mysql-server-core-* mysql-client-core-*
sudo rm -rf /etc/mysql /var/lib/mysql
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get autoclean

After above operation you can check if any MySQL server is installed on your Linux Ubuntu:
Code: [Select]
mysql --version
You'll see:
Code: [Select]
bash: /usr/bin/mysql: No such file or directory

When re-installing MySQL again you should install libmysqlclient-dev
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install libmysqlclient-dev
