WHAT ARE REGIONS?
Regions operate as satellite cities, each with a unique map and theme. The style of each Region is reflected through distinct Residential Zones, Factories, Crafting Shops, and Crafting Materials.

Five Regions await you:

Green Valley
Cactus Canyon
Limestone Cliffs
Frosty Fjords
Sunny Isles

HOW CAN I PLAY REGIONS?
Start unlocking Regions once your Capital City reaches level 25.
Tap the Regions icon (to the left of the club chat icon) in the lower left-hand corner of your Capital City screen to bring up the Regions menu.
The Regions menu shows your Capital City and available Regions. Tap a Region to get more information about it.
Before picking which Region to unlock, you can preview a Region by using the Preview Map button. Tap Unlock to start building the Region of your choice.

WHICH REGION SHOULD I UNLOCK FIRST?
This is completely up to you. You can choose between the Regions and which one you want to start building in.

Once you've chosen to build in a Region, you need to meet certain criteria before you can unlock the next one.

Below are the criteria required to unlock each new Region:
Region 1: Capital City Level 25.
Region 2: Total Regional Population of 15,000.
Region 3: Total Regional Population of 250,000.
Region 4: Total Regional Population of 1,000,000.
Region 5: Total Regional Population of 10,000,000.

MORE INFO ABOUT REGIONS
Can I expand my Regions?
Yes! Regions can be expanded using the same expansion items you use in your Capital City.

Tap on the Regional expansion areas to see how many items are required to unlock each one!

Can I place or move buildings from my Capital City into my Regional City?
You can build Residential Zones, Capacity Services (like Power, Water, Sewage, Waste Management), Area Services (like Fire, Police, Health), and most Specialization buildings from your Capital City in your Regional City.

These buildings have to be built in your Regional Area, they can’t be moved from your Capital using the storage system in game.

Things to know:
Demand for Capacity Services follows local regional rules in Regions.
Two additional Maxis Manors can be built per unlocked Region.
Mountain Specialization Buildings are not available in Green Valley, Cactus Canyon, and Limestone Cliffs.
Beach Specialization Buildings are not available in Cactus Canyon and Limestone Cliffs.
Government Buildings can only be placed in Capital City.
Epic Projects and Epic Buildings can only be placed in Capital City.
