World of Warcraft functionality on Wine

Usually, installing the latest development version of Wine is the best option. However, sometimes Wine suffers from regression and some older version might perform better. If you are having trouble with one version, try another.

__Updated and tested on latest Ubuntu LTS & latest WINE version!

1. Install the latest Wine from the official Wine PPA:
Code: [Select]
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-stable

2. Install Lutris.net
Code: [Select]
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lutris-team/lutris
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install lutris

*** Make sure to install Wine and drivers!
If you plan on playing games for Windows, to ensure a smooth experience, install a recent version of Wine on your system. This will provide all necessary dependency as Lutris cannot ship with every component in its runtime. When playing games lutris will use a custom version of Wine optimized for games.

Play World of Warcraft using latest version of Lutris

Lutris is compatible with any up-to-date Linux distribution.

Packages compatible with Ubuntu and derivatives are available on the PPA.
You can add a repository to receive automatic updates:

Code: [Select]
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lutris-team/lutris
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install lutris
